Christmas at the races

We all went to the races on Friday afternoon.  There was a band playing, everybody was really dressed up and we saw the horses racing, was a fun afternoon out.

Tea party

What an awesome time the girls had yesterday hosting a nutrimetics makeup tea party. We got to have a hand scrub and massage!and also enjoyed some pink cupcakes and ice tea.

Putting up the Christmas tree

Today we are getting into the festive season and putting up our centres Christmas tree. I can't wait to see what it looks like finished!

 

Story writing

I have been so busy over the last several weeks writing all of my funny stories into a collection called, Jordan's Crazy Stories! I have just finished and printed a copy off the computer myself to take home and show my friends and staff. I have done so well. 

Being arty crafty

I have been channeling my inner crafty side and made some awesome christmas cards. Christmas is sneeking up on us fast!

Coffee date!

Today I was spoilt and Peter took me out for a coffee date it was yummy!

Halloween Disco

On Friday it was halloween so for music we had a fun disco. We did the thriller dance and the time warp. It was so funny and everyone looked awesome.

Being a hairdresser

At girls group I love all the make up and nail polish we have a play around with. I decided I was going to do Alice's hair. She looked so pretty! I did a good job.

Out for coffee

Today I went out on a coffee date with Justine it was lovely sitting in the sun shine at zest cafe then off we went to have a look at the dress shop there were some pretty dresses there.

I've been doing some exercises at Arohanui I've been cheeky and tried to pull the staff off the couch.

Pottery

I am so happy my first little vase came back from the pottery decorated with ' real ' glaze...might have to keep this for someone's Christmas pressy !

Renovating

Joined in with renovating this afternoon for the first time. I helped finish the table

Sewing cushions in a special way.

I have been a smart cookie in my Sewing session! I have figured a way around sewing without using my legs for the pedals. I push the pedal with my hand while one of my friends sits at the machine. And after all of my practice with heming and sewing I have helped to make a lovely cushion that will be sold in the Next Door Gallery! I am very proud of my work. Look for more exciting creations to come soon!

Pottery

Today I finished off some of my pinch pots...I enjoyed wrapping them up to make some cool gifts for my friends,lucky them !!!

In Friday music I had fun with the rainbow poi.

Facials

Yesterday in girls group I had a facial the feeling on avocado on my face was weird but I really enjoyed the cucumber on my eyes.

Yesterday I sensory I got to get out of my chair and sit on the couch I thort this was pretty amazing!

Creation fest 2014

On Wednesday I went to Rotorua to see the wearable arts show my favourite was the dancers in there PJs.

Happy birthday to me!

It was my birthday on Saturday so we celebrated early on Friday with a yummy cake I brought in. Everyone wished me a happy birthday and sung me happy birthday. I felt so special and had an awesome day!

Pottery

We have been working as a team on this latest big pot,I helped to make the coils that we built up.Here is Kirsty smoothing out the clay and I am working on some new designs.

Keeping warm this winter.

I have avoiding the winter chill by coming in every day with an impressive display of beanies, gloves, leg warmer sand snugly jerseys. This morning I came in with a really cool and sparkly pair of gloves that go all the way up to my elbows. How cool do I look?

Cooking with Jo

I have been taking part in a cooking class with Jo and we have been mastering our cooking school. One of the skills we learnt was the art of making the Perez boiled egg. Mine turned out really well and I took it home at the end of the day. 

Fun around the centre!

Things have been really fun around the centre for me lately. I have had a lovely visit from Michelle and her baby Maddison, it was lovely to see how much she has grown. Robyn and Jo gave me a real giggle and dressed up in robes for me the other day, I laughed so hard! This morning when I came to the centre I saw Bex and some of the other clients doing Hip Hop dancing. What a funny thing to be doing first thing in the morning! 

Street art in Tauranga!

In photography we have different subjects that we are focusing on to photo shoot. We have done street art, buildings, animals and mirror images. I enjoy all the different places that we get to go see.

In pottery I have been enjoying making things.  This is a vase that I have made with my staff helping me.

We went to the Bay of Plenty Tech to the animal centre there.  We got to see some donkeys, a very big dog and a turtle! 

Red Cross Appeal

Being able to help the community raise money for the Red Cross appeal was a lot of fun and very rewarding. I enjoyed being part of it.

Trip to the strand

We had a beautiful visit to Tauranga town and walked along the strand. What a gorgeous day we had.

International show-jumping competition

The reporters from The Comet, Greerton section went to the international show-jumping competition at the Tauranga Racecourse.  It was pretty cool to see the horse jumping. It was my first ever time seeing showjumping.

Yesterday we went to the buried village in Rotorua.  It was a lovely day out getting to go for a walk and see everything that got buried in the eruption.  I also had a huge surprise seeing Steve and my Grandad there for lunch as well. Pics coming soon.....

Visit to Mossops

In of our outings we went to visit Mossops to see how honey is made and some of the stuff that honey can make.

Cooking Techniques

In cooking we are learning how to poach, boil, glaze and stew. I enjoy cooking, except for when the onions make me cry!

Coffee Tasting Time

In Comet, we are looking at the different cafes that are around Greerton. We get to rate the taste of the  coffees, the service that is given to us and the layout. I enjoyed being able to have coffee with my work mates

We had fun making mini cupcakes in our cookery session.I helped to stir the mixture,I really enjoy this!

Surprise Visit!

Michelle came in for morning tea and surprised everyone and bought her beautiful baby girl Teylah. She slept the whole time though! Teylah was pretty cute:)

What an awesome girls group we had yesterday we had a tea tasting party there was vanilla tea, tropical tea wild berry tea and green tea I loved them all it was the best day I've had this year with all the girls :)

A brand new year

I have had a wonderful holiday. I am so glad to be back with me everyone at Arohanui. Great times ahead for 2014!
